Product Description:

Sumitomo extrusion coating line is designed and built to produce soft high-performance films most used as food packaging, etc. We can flexibly customize the system to performance needs.

MICRO SYNTHETIC FIBER

Micro synthetic fibers provide superior resistance to the formation of plastic shrinkage cracks and extends service life of concrete.

Polypropylene micro fibers are used as secondary reinforcement on concrete, plaster, bitumen, and pre-cast applications and made of 100% virgin polypropylene.

Applications
  • • Field Concrete and Industrial Floors
  • • Parking Lot Flooring
  • • Plaster Applications
  • • Construction Chemicals
  • • Paint
  • • Residential Buildings
  • • Screed Concrete
  • • Pre-cast and Prefabricated Structures
  • • Coating Concrete
  • • Shotcrete
  • • Tunnel Applications
  • • Refractery Applications
Advantages
  • • Polypropylene fibers increases crack control which in turn increases reliability and service life of concrete structures.
  • • Easy to apply.
  • • Saves time and workload by reducing the time for transfer and set-up of traditional mesh.
  • • A more versatile alternative to traditional reinforcement methods for residential buildings and lightly loaded commercial buildings.
  • • Widely used in screed concrete projects due to the ability to increase ductility and prevent segregation.
  • • Fibers reduces the thickness of the slab, and it increases the resistance to tensile loads in turn reduces costs.
Technical Specifications
  • • Multidimensional, efficient distribution of fibers assures a uniform reinforcement and prevents crack formation.
  • • Prevents the risk of corrosion compared to steel wires and wire mesh reinforcement. Due to 0.91 g/m3 gravity, high number of fibers can be obtained in lower weights. Thus, higher, and three-dimensional reinforcement of concrete mix is achieved.
  • • The use of fiber greatly enhances plastic shrinkage and cracks due to perspiration during concrete curing and increases durability of concrete.
  • • Use of fibers prevents segregation and supports homogeneous concrete application.
  • • Impremeability obtained by reduced cracking also reduces maintenance costs by 10 to 30%.
  • • Polyoropylene fibers have actually been utilized in shotcrete applications for various large-scale projects; easy to add, mix and shoot. Fibers also reduce freeze/thaw damage and penetration from water and chemicals due to three-dimensional effect of the fibers within the concrete mix.
  • • At high temperatures, polypropylene fibers start to melt due to progressive change of state which starts at approximately 150°. This melting facilitates the reduction in the internal stresses within concrete that causes the explosive spalling.
Packing
  • • 600 / 900 gr WS PE packs, 5 kg plastic bags and custom packaging alternatives by application requirements.
Dosing
  • • Micro synthetic fibers should be added to the ready-mix truck or at the batching plant with recommended dosage for each cubic meter. For adequate mixing high speed, 4-5 min revolutions are required.
Storage & Disposal
  • • It is recommended to store fibers within original packages, between +5° and 30°, protected from moisture and direct sunlight. It is the responsibility of the end user to dispose the product and the package.
MACRO SYNTHETIC FIBER

Macro synthetic fibers provide concrete with enhanced durability and toughness compared to traditional mesh.

Made of 100% virgin copolymer / polypropylene micro fibers, consist of twisted bundles of monofilament fibers and used as a primary structural concrete reinforcement.

Its high-performance structure yields maximum durability with no corrosion, magnetic and acid/alkali risk.

Applications
  • • Field Concrete and Industrial Floors
  • • Coastal Structures & Ports
  • • Mining
  • • Tunnel Applications
  • • Residential Buildings
  • • Parking Lot Flooring
  • • Pre-cast and Prefabricated Structures
  • • Water Structures
  • • Concrete Pavements
Advantages
  • • Saves time from handling the steel mesh on the site.
  • • Significantly reduces application times and direct labor expenses.
  • • Due to being non-corrosive significantly reduces slab thickness.
  • • Prevention of corrosion increases service life and reduces maintenance costs.
  • • Eliminates labor related risks and removes potential hazards from the work site related to steel mesh and steel fibers.
  • • Does not damage construction equipment as steel fiber.
  • • Reduces costs of storage and due to not having a shelf life can be stored for long-term.
  • • Overall cost is lower than steel mesh and steel fibers.
Technical Specifications
  • • Excellent dispersion within concrete with robust adherence.
  • • Significantly reduces application times compared to traditional steel mesh.
  • • Significantly saves labor costs in large-scale projects.
  • • Provides long term durability without risk of corrosion.
  • • Increased shatter, impact, and abrasion resistance.
  • • Prevents shrinkage cracks and eliminates thermal expansion and contraction impacts.
  • • Supports concrete structure exposed to extreme levels of freeze/thaw.
  • • Holds concrete tightly together to withstand long term acidic and alkaline environment.
  • • Increases ductility and improves energy absorption capacity.
  • • Eliminates the need for steel mesh and steel fibers by giving structural flexural strength to concrete.
Packing
  • • 5 kg plastic bags and custom packaging alternatives by application requirements.
Dosing
  • • Depending on the project requirements, recommended dosages vary between 2 kg/m3 to 5 kg/m3
  • • Homogeneous mixture is maintained by adding macro synthetic fibers to the ready-mix truck or at the batching plant with recommended dosage for each cubic meter. For adequate mixing high speed, 4-5 min revolutions are required.
Storage & Disposal
  • • It is recommended to store fibers within original packages, between +5° and 30°, protected from moisture and direct sunlight. It is the responsibility of the end user to dispose the product and the package.
